Founded in 1994, Johannes School began as a small gathering of twelve families who believed that education should ignite wonder, not merely transfer knowledge.
Named after Johannes Hevelius, the renowned Polish astronomer whose tireless curiosity mapped the heavens, our school carries forward that same spirit of inquiry. From a modest townhouse on the banks of the Vistula, we have grown into one of Poland's most respected international schools — yet we have never lost the intimacy and warmth of those earliest days.
Today, over 640 students from 42 nationalities walk our corridors, debating in the courtyard, experimenting in state-of-the-art laboratories, and performing on our concert stage. We deliver a rigorous curriculum aligned with both the Polish Matura and the International Baccalaureate, ensuring every graduate leaves prepared for the finest universities in Europe and beyond.
But what truly sets Johannes School apart is not a programme or a building — it is a culture. A culture that values intellectual humility, creative courage, and genuine kindness. Here, every student is known by name, every question is taken seriously, and every achievement — large or small — is celebrated.
